Talarico's in West Seattle

Talarico's is a nice pizza joint in West Seattle that you get slices of pizza as big as your head at happy hour for $3.50. Seriously the slices are as big as your head and you have man 'flavors' to pick from I like the margarita or the olgvia or how ever it's spelled, the one with arugula and goat cheese. They have meaty ones too and a Cesar salad and garlic bread available at happy hour too both are $4.00 I believe.

For drinks you have your option of beer (draft) $3.00, well drinks at $4.00 and champagne at $4.00 as well. Not bad, you could easily have dinner at happy hour for less than $10.00 here and many times I've done just that. It's not the greatest but it's not the worst either. As a side note at night they have karaoke, trivia, movie and live music sometimes so if you stick around until the evening there's something going on, unfortunately I can't remember if there's a late night happy hour.

Over all I'd give them a 3.5 our of 5.0 cheers.

Boka in Downtown Seattle

I enjoy going to Boka's for their happy hours it's a nice, clean bar with a really cool light wall that changes colors all night long. They also have a cool ice bar though I'm not one to sit by it because it's too tempting to play with it.

Their happy hours are Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and they offer both food and drink specials and they have a late night happy hour as well from 10:00 pm - 12:00 am.
Their food specials are a pretty good deal, half off all urban bites and eats the mac 'n cheese is ok but the truffle fries are great and for $3.25 and $3.00 respectively you can't go wrong. I've been told that the Waygu beef burger and truffle fries for $6.50 is the best deal but I didn't try it.
For drinks you can get well drinks for $4.75, draft beer $3.00 (mmm Stella!) and your pick of red or white wine for $5.00 a glass.

When you're looking for a place to kind of get away and enjoy happy hour is a calm, clean environment go to Boka, plus the ladies room is awesome and they have Molton Brown hand soap and lotion!

Overall I'd give Boka 4.0 cheers out of 5.0.

Cafe Metropolitain in Capitol Hill

Went to Cafe Metropolitan for happy hour last month. Funny thing is they had happy hour but there wasn't anything listed for me to figure out what days/times/specials were. I take that back on the board behind the bar they have their drink specials listed but I still don't know the days or times or if there are food specials.

The plus for Cafe Metropolitan is the fact that the inside looks like a replica of a cheesy Vegas hotel eatery, it's very entertaining.

Over all I'd give Cafe Metropolitain a 3.0 cheers out of 5.0.

Calamity Jane's in Georgetown

I went to Calamity Jane's a while ago to meet some friends for happy hour. I don't get to Georgetown much because it's kind of a forgotten place to me but I was invited so I went.

They have happy hour Monday to Saturday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm with food and drink specials. Drink specials are cans of Hamm's for $1.00, microbrews on tap and Wells $3.00, and a buck off of all boozes and wine. I went for a Duwamish tonic which was blueberry stoli, lemonade and a pomegranate float, it was tasty and deadly that's for sure.

The food specials are your choice for just $3.66 pulled pork sliders, gyoza dumplings, hot chicken Wings, and Mozzerepa which was interesting, fresh mozzarella and basil sandwiched between two basil Johnny cakes and served with marinara, like I said it was interesting. The pork sliders and gyoza were my two favorites that I tasted that night.

Service was great and the bartender keep separate tabs for everyone which was great considering the size of our party.

A word of caution when coming here parking sucks, so start looking early unless you drive a motorcycle than you can just park on the sidewalk apparently, I saw more than one motorcycle park on the sidewalk.

Over all I'd give Calamity Jane's a solid 3.5 stars the food didn't wow me and it's kind of our of the way with limited parking.

Denunzio's in Pioneer Square

So I'm back in town for a while and finally caught up on real life stuff now back to happy hour reviews.

A while back I heard that Denunzio's down in Pioneer Square had happy hour. I went with a friend and we walk in and ask and are told they did not have happy hour. As we begin to walk back up the stairs to leave Lugigi tells us that for us there will be happy hour!
$4.00 wines red or white and $4.00 plate of food, consisting of pasta, chicken, bruchetta, sausage, polenta and I can't remember the other one. We tried some pasta, bruchetta and the polenta, if you don't like bell peppers let them know because every dish was smothered in them but the food was ok.

The place is in the basement of a building and kind of has a fun house look and feel to it, it's not some place I'd go again for happy hour unless I needed a good laugh, Lugigi is one funny man and he can sure turn a shitty day into a not so shitty day just by talking to you.

Over all I'd give Denunzio's a 2.5 cheers our of 5, the food nor the wine did much for me and I have no idea what their real happy hour days/times are.

Crimson C in Pioneer Square

Crimson C is a nice place to stop in before an M's game for happy hour or during the ArtWalk to take a breather from all the art.

They have happy hour Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, one of the longest happy hours around town.

The food now is kind of a Thai fusion, and not that but and it's cheap, they offer $3.00, $4.00 and $5.00 plates with a nice variety and even something for the vegetarian if you have one.

Like their food they offer $2.00, $3.00 and $4.00 drink specials, beer, well and wine, again a little something for everyone.

What I like most about Crimson C are their comfy chairs and couches in the front of the bar, you can just sink into them and take a load off. But be careful they are so comfy if you have one too many drinks you might start dozing off. The rest of the decor is pretty nice I love the mirrors on the brick walls and red wood walls really warm the place up. And on a plus the ladies room was clean and fully stocked even at the end of happy hour.

Over all I'd give Crimson C a 4.0 cheers our of 5.

Charlies on Broadway in Capitol Hill

Charlie’s on Broadway has happy hour everyday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and again late night from 10:30 pm to 1:00 am. They offer both food and drink specials; $2.75 MGD and Miller Lite, $3.75 Microbrew pounder of the day and $4.00 daily drink specials.

Monday - Margarita
Tuesday - Grape Nehi
Wednesday - Long Island
Thursday - Kamikaze
Friday - Sea Breeze
Saturday - Sex on the Beach
Sunday - Bloody Mary

I wasn't too impressed with much at Charlie’s, the food didn't wow me but the drinks are poured with a fairly heavy hand but it's well vodka so a heavy well drink is not something I care for. It does give off a seedy vibe but in a good way and attracts and eclectic crowd. If I'm roaming around Capitol Hill looking for happy hour Charlie’s is one of those places that always seem to be open and have seating.

Over all I'd rate Charlie’s 3.0 out of 5 cheers.

Mitchelli Trattoria in Pioneer Square

Mitchelli Trattoria use to be what I considered a hidden gem of a happy hour spot in Pioneer Square unfortunately things have changed over the years. The martinis (classis, gibson, dirty or fruity) are now half the size they once were, use to be served in martini glasses now served in what appears to be a cordial glass and their prices went from $2.75 to $3.25. When you consider it would take two drinks to make a normal martini you'd be paying $6.50 which is not a very happy hour special to me. $3.25 for a normal sized martini at happy hour is a good deal, half the size not so good.

They still have their $1.00 pizzas which are the size of a bread plate, so yes they are small but they are worth the buck you pay and you are offered a few options: Italian cheese, margherita, BBQ chicken and pepperoni. I've had the cheese and marghertia and have enjoyed both. Besides the $1.00 pizza they also offer the following for a $1.95: calamari fritti, Caesar salad and a baked artichoke-spinach dip, the calamari and salad are both good deals.
If you don't like martinis they also have beer and wine for $3.25 a glass but the wine isn't that great and they only offer the beer special on one of their drafts which never seems to be one I like.

Over all I'd rate Mitchell's 3.0 out of 5 cheers, the do have both food and drinks specials and free Wi-Fi access if you need it. Oh I guess I should mention their happy hour only runs Monday through Friday from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm

Nijo in Downtown Seattle

Nijo is another favorite happy hour spot of mine offering both food and drink specials. Their happy hour runs from daily 4pm to 6pm and Thursday through Saturday they have a late night happy hour from 10pm to 12am but please note a drink purchase is required for happy hour menu but soft drinks, tea and juice are ok.

Another great thing about Nijo's happy hour is you don't have to sit in the bar to enjoy happy hour; you can enjoy it from a table in the restaurant part. Another thing is they also take reservations so you could in a sense make reservations for happy hour if you wanted too.

As soon as you sit down Water is poured for you to sip on while checking out their extensive happy hour menu (everything is listed on their website.) One strange thing I love about their water is that they keep fresh orange slices in it which provides for a nice refreshing taste.

I've tried all of their $4.00 happy hour cocktails with the exception of the Caucasian, it's a white Russian and this fat chick is not a fan of the white Russians. The Blueberry morning is blueberry stoli, cranberry and pineapple juice so it's red not blue when it arrives. The Lychee martini was cloudy but good and I think the strongest of their happy hour cocktails. The coconut cosmopolitan was more like a vodka cran with coconut in it, it wasn't very cosmo like but I still drank and enjoyed it.

If you like sushi you can't really go wrong with the food here, I had albacore and eel nigiri along with a spicy tuna roll each were only $3.00 and totally worth their price the spicy tuna roll was a whole roll with eight pieces, the fish is fresh and plentiful.

One word of caution when happy houring at Nijo, they don't have their own restroom so you have to use the one in the lobby of the building. Be sure to ask your server for the number to get into the ladies room and write it down otherwise if you have one too many cocktails you might forget and have an accident.

Over all I'd give Nijo a 4.0 out of 5 cheers for happy hour.
